this month has sucked. that's why i haven't been updating. but it's been pretty uneventful, so... no great loss, right?

anyway. every winter in plymouth there's an ice sculpture display called the plymouth ice spectacular. in addition to all the carnival food available -- yum! i love carnival nachos and elephant ears! -- they have, of course, ice sculptures. they're done by a whole slew of ppl, from high schoolers in a competition to a japanese ice carving team!

last year we got some cool pictures at night, when they turned on all the lights and the sculptures were lit up in all different colors. but this year, we couldn't make it at night, so we had to settle for some daytime shots.

these show one of the smaller displays, but i like the particular character. (see my arm around him? you can see through the ice. oops, i forgot about that!) it's probably near impossible to tell who it is, but it's SCOOBY! scooby-doo used to be one of my favorite cartoons growing up, so seeing the sculpture brought me back to the 80s.

happy new year! can you believe it's already 2008? where did the time go???

we ended up ringing in the new year w/ a party at C & S's. we ate a ton of food, and some ppl had a ton to drink haha. we even had some fondue! unfortunately, despite all the time it took to get the chocolate texture and taste just right, we didn't eat that much of it b/c we'd already eaten too many other things. oh well. it ended up being a nice low key new year's eve, which is what we'd wanted anyway.

2007 was a great year for us, for obvious reasons. we got married, went on the best honeymoon ever, and had 9 months of pure marital bliss. and of course, we're thankful to have had our friends and family by our side through the career/relocation decisions we've had to make over the course of the past year. here's to a happy 2008 for everyone! *cheers*
