we went to the outlet stores yesterday and bought a bunch of things. we originally went b/c i'd liked a pair of jeans at the gap outlet in michigan. at the time they were on sale but they didn't have my size, so we figured we'd go to the one in ohio and see if i'd have better luck. well at this gap outlet the jeans were $40 so i decided to skip it -- they aren't that great after all.

that didn't hold us back from other shopping though! we got a couple decently priced things at banana republic. gopooh got 3 pairs of shoes at the off saks outlet. we got a toy for alex at one of the toy stores. and then we went to michael kors, where i got a pair of jeans, a belted dress, a wool short-sleeved sweater, and a work-worthy shirt for $130! i can't believe what a bargain that was. there was another dress i liked that was also $30, and i would've bought it but they didn't have my size. :(

i like good deals on clothing! on the other hand, i know we are sooo bad. especially since our credit card bills this month are already going to be higher than normal, between our anniversary trip and my new laptop. oh well, at least we helped the economy a little hehe.

i got my new laptop, and it is sweet! i ended up getting the sony vaio VGN-FW290, which is their 16:9 one. gopooh and i watched the prices go up and down until we thought we had it at its best price, then ordered it after thanksgiving. we shipped it to his parents' place, figuring it'd be more secure than having someone at our leasing office accept it.

of course, as luck would have it, his parents decided to go to florida the day it was s'posed to be delivered. so we went back to michigan this weekend to pick it up. when we got there, we found 3 fedex stickies on the front door notifying us that they'd been there 3x and we would have to pick it up at the office. i called fedex and they said that it was back on the truck for delivery. WHAT?! turns out the delivery guy thought he'd try a 4th time.

we ended up sitting there all day, bored out of our minds, until the guy showed up at 4pm. it was a good thing he did, b/c on the box there were all these bright yellow stickers from sony instructing fedex to ship directly back to them if undeliverable 3x; there was not to be any holding of the packages at the fedex office. so if the delivery guy had followed the rules my laptop would be on its way back to sony right now! phew.

anyway i totally love the laptop. the keys are easy to push, so despite the individual keys being spaced further apart than i'm used to, there are hardly any typos. and it is super fast w/ a separate video card for graphics. do i know what that means? no, but gopooh likes to point that out haha. i love it!

yea i'm done w/ boards! different ppl have different ideas of what's considered hard, but i don't believe in 'educated' guesses. it just seems like even if i narrow a question down to 2 possible answers, i pick the wrong answer more often than not. so i just mark all of the ones i'm not sure about and count them up at the end. for this test i literally had HALF of the answers marked. that can't be good... *sigh* :(

afterwards gopooh took me to this restaurant in the ritz-carlton, muse. why? b/c they have foie gras, which is just not as available as i would like. the rest of dinner was great too, but i just really love foie gras!

we also went to an indian restaurant this weekend, b/c we were totally craving indian food and we'd never had any in cleveland yet. we went to one that took us forever to find b/c it was tucked inside an office building off from the main road. i kept staring at nuvi going, "did nuvi mess up again?!"

so we finally got inside and ordered. since i like everything mild and gopooh likes everything spicy, we got the spicy sauce on the side. the waitress leaned over to put the spicy sauce on the table, and i watched it splatter onto the table and right in front of me... only to suddenly feel pain in my eye! MY GOD. i started tearing like crazy and seeing red -- the red sauce.

after moments of shock/pain, i hurried to the bathroom and hung out in there rinsing my eye and my contact lens for 10 minutes. gopooh said he thought some of the waitstaff thought i'd gotten pissed at him and ran out, b/c they asked if everything was ok. yeah i was ok, except for the chili you sprayed at me! man, that stuff stings. don't get it in your eye.

it's now the end of the road; my boards are this saturday! my favorite study spot is the big handicapped table at the starbucks around the corner. there's an electrical outlet right there for my laptop -- i've been going through a 'comprehensive CD' for the boards. the table at the front of the coffee shop works too but the outlet is high up on the wall and my laptop's heavy plug falls out.

oftentimes the handicapped table is taken, but today i snagged it just in time! unfortunately there was a nasty smell wafting around me. i kept sniffing the table to see if it was coming from the guy who was there previously but it didn't seem to be that. there was this guy sitting on a sofa 20 ft away wearing headphones who appeared to be schizophrenic, and i kept wondering if it was him. but ppl who walked into the store must've thought i stunk! great.

finally the guy on the sofa left, and i got my answer. immediately one of the workers went over and sprayed the entire area, including the sofa. apparently he is a regular, and he always smells. after he left, my nose didn't hurt so much to inhale. :p
