this picture was one taken in LA. it was when we were at the getty museum. my dad was the one taking the picture, and as he was getting ready to take the picture a bee started circling around... and just as he pushed the button it flew in front of the lens. see that blurry yellow blob? that was the bee.

i was going to delete it, but then decided i actually liked it. not b/c it's a nice picture of us, but b/c it was such a chance shot.

we spent a nice long weekend in LA, and i have to say, i could see myself living out there. it doesn't make the most sense financially for us right now; we want to save all that we can while we can. maybe when we're older though?

we went to both the getty villa and the getty museum. we thought each place would only take a few hours, but it turned out that even though we didn't walk through them completely, we spent almost an entire day at each, just b/c they were ginormous. gopooh appreciated it more than i did, since he's the almost-archaeology-major of us. but it turned out that my dad was totally into it, and he examined everything way more in depth than we did. who knew!!!

aside from that though, we ate a lot (duh), went to rodeo drive (double duh), and walked around the santa monica pier. my parents go there every weekend, since they live right there. it's amazing that this is their lifestyle now... leisurely walks along the beach... ahh how nice it must be...

i finally bought a new coat last weekend. my last fall coat was from 1999 and i wore it faithfully until now. slowly, one by one, the buttons had fallen off and had been replaced by the extra buttons on the sleeves... and then they had fallen off again. and i still wore it for the last year, using the belt to keep it closed in the middle. yes i am ghetto!

i'd been eyeing this black and white michael kors coat for a month or so but just couldn't get myself to spend the money on it. i've seen cheaper versions of the design but didn't like any of them once i put them on -- gopooh said the pattern was smaller/tighter on the other coats, making me look like a zebra, and perhaps that's why i didn't like them. niiice.

ok so it's not THAT expensive for a wool coat, but more than ghetto, i am very conservative w/ money and put a lot of thought into all my purchases. i don't buy anything i am not sold on, and i try to wait until i really need things (aka the very last minute) before buying. hence, the 9-year-old coat w/ missing buttons...

but this weekend gopooh's mom gave us a 25% off coupon for the saks fifth avenue outlet, and the coat was there. i tried it on (again) and w/ gopooh egging me on, i ended up pulling the trigger and getting it for 50% of the original price, so i'm happy. i'm especially happy to have it now that it's getting chilly outside. :p
